Group Therapy

The Collective are preparing a statement on behalf of the nation that will be published at 2pm GMT. Check back for more info.

In the meantime, to help us deal with this terrible day together, it would be nice if everyone who checked in could write a little comment telling us how they feel.

Thank you.

Geoffrey Boycott, Alan Knott, Derek Randall, Grahame Gooch, Derek Underwood, Maggie Thatcher, your boys took a hell of a beating.

By a lonely harbor wall, she watched the last star fall
As the prison ship sailed out against the sky
For she lived to hope and pray for her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely round the fields of Athenry

I feel as sick as a man who's been force fed a plate of dog food washed down with a bucket of salt water.

It turns out Duncan Fletcher was a plant organised in a conspiracy between Cricket Australia and Zimbabwe. The plan was to let England win in 2005 just to make your fall all the more calamitous when we crushed you in 2006, scaring a new generation of young English cricketers.

Sorry lads, we'll be taking that urn back momentarily.

Hello JC

You must think that all your Christmases have come early after England's abject capitulation today!

I think that we're suffering from so much that we can't get our heads around anything. If we could just be left to be a team and not hampered by (in my opinion) too many rash desicisions from outside of the team, maybe we could do something with ourselves. It takes a lot for me to turn my back, even momentarily on my boys but. I have to admit, even I switched my radio off.
